The Morgenthaler foundation

In 1990, David Morgenthaler (MIT S.B., S.M. ‘41) donated $30K to fund the grand prize for the first three years of the then $10K Competition. His gift paved the path for MIT's $100K to give millions away in non-dilutive funding, launching over 160 companies and creating 1,600+ jobs. The Morgenthaler Foundation generously supports the $100K Competition to ensure David’s commitment to MIT’s entrepreneurial ecosystem lives on, enabling many more MIT students, staff, and alums to change the world through their groundbreaking ideas.
